The float was launched in a triad with NPS#83 and NPS#85 in an across-shore row with the nearest to shore point about 31 km distant from Pfeiffer Point, a distance between points in the row was about 17 km.
After the launch the float was entrained in the undercurrent but travelled there for about a month only. On October 15, 2000 the float turned offshore and moved into the interior (Figure 2).
The float was ballasted for 275 dbar and during the most part of the mission the float settled down at 451.3±6.8 dbar. After turning to northwest on February 28, 2002 the float gradually sank to ~540 dbar (Figure 3).
