The float was launching in a triad together with NPS#70 (unsuccessful mission) and NPS#69 (Figure 1). The triad was launched in an across-shore slightly curved arc with the nearest to the shore point about 270 km distant from P. San Lois, and distance between points in the row of about 10 km.
After the launch the float moved northward, then turned onshore and entered the undercurrent west of P. Sur on June 29, 1999 (Figure 2). During the mission the float was moving along the coast except for a short "cyclonic-like" excursion west of San Francisco from August 26 through November 17, 1999.
The float was ballasted for 275 dbar but the real depth was 568.5 ± 33.1 till the end of October, 1999. Then the float sank to 731.9 ddbar by March 12, 2000 (Figure 3 ).
