The float was launched in a traid with NPS#66 and NPS#67 south of 36° N-parallel above the 1000-m isobath in an alongshore row about 20 km off the coastline. The distance between the points in the row was ~ 10 km (Figure 1).
After the launch the float moved offshore and never entered the undercurrent (Figure 2). It made a cyclonic loop with diameter of about 20 km and on December 8, 1998 turned southward. It was moving along a relatively smooth trajectory till March 14, 1999 and reached the latitude of 32.7°N. After that the float trajectory became rather muddled.
The float was ballasted for 275 dbar. After the launch the float was moving at 445.8 ± 4.2. Then the float rose to 413 dbar while moving southward from the beginning of December, 1998 through the end of March, 1999. After that the float dropped again to 440 dbar while moving westward till May 22, 1999 and then rose to 390 dbar by July 14, 1999 after the float turned eastward (Figure 3). The rest of the mission the float was at 397.4 ± 5.0 dbar.
