The float was launched in a pair with NPS#26 from a site between Pt. Reyes and Monterey Bay (Figure 2).

After 8-days move along the bathymetry the float was entrained by a mesoscale anticyclonic eddy (Figure 4, Figure 1) with diameter of about 140 km and period of 25 days

and remained there till the end of the mission.

The float was ballasted for 290 dbar but the real depth was between 339 and 391 m (Figure 3).
