The float was launched in a triad with NPS#11 and NPS#13 about 100 km southwest of San Francisco (Figure 2). The floats in the triad were launched in a nearly equilateral triangular pattern with a side of about 8 km.

and remained there till the end of the mission.
After launching the float sank for about two weeks from about 330 dbar to 410 dbar (Figure 3). After it was entrapped in the eddy, the depth remained at 395.4±5.6 dbar and the temperature was 6.3±0.1°C.
