The float was launched in a triad (NPS#3, NPS#5, NPS#7) in a nearly equilateral triangular pattern with a side of about 8 km. The float was situated ~100 km west of San Francisco Figure 2. It was a successful 60-day mission with a sampling rate 3 day.

After the launching the float moved northwest for about 65 km and turned onshore on July 13, 1993. On July 18 it stalled till July 31 and shifted less than 3 km in 12 days. After that the float traveled southward in a reversing flow with a mean speed of ~ 6 cm/s Figure 1 for about 110 km. On August 25, 1993 the float reversed direction, moved north, and surfaced on September 5, 1993 ~13 km from the launching point.

The target pressure was 350 dbar and the real one was between 302 and 402 dbar Figure 3. During the first 8 days of the mission (between 6 and 13 of July) the float was slowly sinking from 302.5 to 363.9 and settled at 365 9 dbar.
