The tide data below was gathered by a high precision digital pressure sensor deployed on the MISO instrument frame. This 4 day timeseries shows pressure in decibars caused by the depth of water above the transducer, which is approximately 1m above the bed. Each data point represents a 5 minute average of the pressure, which filters out the contribution by surface gravity waves. The resulting plot of water depth shows the sea height variations due primarily to the lunar tides. The variability in the tidal range results from the addition of different tidal components which cause complicated "beats" in the tidal cycle. The time axis is yeardays, where yearday 1.000 is the start of 1 January.
