Naval Postgraduate School

I am a Research Associate Professor in the Oceanography Dept. at the Naval Postgraduate School and an Adjunct Scientist at the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute. My primary research interest is in coastal physical oceanography, with recent emphasis on central and southern California, including Monterey Bay.

• The development of course materials for use by Navy enlisted AGs and junior METOC officers in learning about Navy operational ocean circulation models.
• Continuation of real-time observations and model validation in Monterey Bay.  This work began under the NOPP-funded  ICON project and continues with ONR funding and as part of the NOAA-funded CIMT project.
• An investigation of sewage contamination in Huntington Beach, CA
