I think there is a simple explanation. I
believe that these transport calculations were
truncated at 1000 m (correct?). We truncated our
IES results at 1000 m to compare the results.
Averaged over the same period as our data, the
Kuroshio mean was 58 Sv from the altimeter
calculations. Our 1000 m truncated mean was
57 +- 3 Sv.
