I just viewed the poster on the characterization of the BMC
on the web and was very pleased. This is a concise, well
structured presentation of an extremely interesting region
of the southwest Atlantic ocean.
The authors show, using observations and model results that
the area of study is characterized by energetic variability
in a range of temporal scales from seasonal to interannual.
Circulation and hidrographic characteristics are summarized
in order to give a broad sense of the major oceanographic
features associated with the BMC. It is noted that local
dynamics involving recirculation and meander dynamics play
an important role in the BMC variability.
From the climate variability perspective, understanding the
impact of the large SST changes associated with the BMC
latitudinal displacement on regional climate (over South America)
should be the subject of future research.
My only remark is that it would have been useful in the end
to have a summary/conclusion section bringing all the aspects
of the BMC together.
