Thank you for this very informative study, which also reads very
well on my browser.
The difference in coverage by the 0.1 and 0.28 runs is quite astonishing.
Do you think that the 0.28 run would have covered the whole regime as well,
if you would have permitted it to run longer, or is it the mesoscale variability
(eddy mixing) < 0.28 degrees that allows water to enter these "void' areas?
In other words, are "shadow" zones inlow resolution model permanent?
Are you planning a similar study for the South Atlantic?
